The Backpack Program

Through the Back pack Program, we distribute a small bag of food to needy children at school on Friday afternoon to take home to eat during the weekend.

Many of our Mesa County kids are going to bed with hungry tummies. Many receive free breakfast and lunch during the school days but what about the weekends? We've been told that on any given day you can see children saving half their lunches at school to eat later at home.   Many go without adequate food on the weekends.

This year, ValleyChurch distributes backpack bags to Dos Rios Elementary School, helping to feed approximately 100 children weelly.  We bag on Wednesdays at 3 pm at the church.  IT TAKES MANY HANDS TO FEED MANY CHILDREN!
