Exodus:
God Delivers
March 15, 2009
SERMON RECAP:
Israel is in Egypt, slaves of the Egyptians for 400 years. But God is still on mission. Moses, raised in Pharoah's house, a Hebrew on the run for murder, encounters God at a mysterious burning bush. God calls him to return to Egypt and lead His people out into the wilderness where they may worship Him.
God reveals His power through the plagues on the land. The gods of Egypt are revealed as false and worthless. The plague of death and the celebration of the first Passover are a vivid picture of a salvation that is yet to be revealed. The Passover lamb points to a greater Lamb yet to come.
God delivers His people from the Egyptians at the Red Sea. Pharoah's armies are destroyed as God's people pass safely through the water. Gathered at the base of Mt. Sinai, the people prepare to receive God's law...The Epic continues...
