Foundational Statements:

Who we are:
Grand Valley Christian is a new Christian high school that was founded in 2010 with classes scheduled to begin on September 7th, 2010. GVCHS is will be using a Biblically-integrated college preparatory curriculum, taught by qualified teachers in a traditional teacher-directed classroom setting.

Our Mission:
In partnership with Christian families, the mission of Grand Valley Christian High School is to provide an excellent education from a Christ-centered and biblical perspective that develops student’s minds, bodies and spirits and equips them to discover their role in God’s eternal plan. It is not our goal to protect students from the world, but to prepare them to impact their world for Christ.

Our Vision:
Our long-term vision is that graduates of Grand Valley Christian High School become mature Christian adults that possess godly wisdom, knowledge, and a biblical worldview, as evidenced by a lifestyle of character, leadership, service, stewardship, and worship.

Our Philosophy of Christian Education:
We believe that God has given parents the primary responsibility for training and educating their children, while the Christian School has an important supportive role. We believe that the school is to be an extension of the home with authority delegated to it from the parents. We, therefore, desire to have a healthy working relationship with each family and to develop an effective partnership.

Because all wisdom, knowledge and truth originate with God, courses taught at Grand Valley Christian High School will be taught from a biblical worldview, directing the student’s focus to Jesus Christ who is the Truth and the source of life and eternal salvation. In so doing, we desire to help families fulfill the Biblical mandate to "train up your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)

Quality Christian education is achieved when parents, students, teachers, administrators, staff and board members firmly support the school and one another in every aspect and maintain open communication with one another. The following roles and attitudes are essential:
• Parents are responsible for their child's education and spiritual growth
• Teachers must realize a calling for teaching and be spiritually and academically qualified.
• Students must have a desire to learn and to grow in mind, body and spirit, to strive for excellence in studies and activities, be respectful of others and to serve the school, church and the community in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Board members must be mature Christians with a vision of Christian education and must possess strong leadership abilities. • The Administrator should be the spiritual leader and key visionary of the school.
